Player Story
Hinkley joined the Heat side in WBBL|05 after previously playing for the Sydney Thunder, Perth Scorchers and Hobart Hurricanes. Finding her home in Queensland, the right-handed batter and handy fielder also represents the state, playing for the Queensland Fire. A proud Indigenous woman of the Kunja people, Mikayla is an amazing role model for young kids. She helped Aboriginal artist Delores McDonald design the Brisbane Heat’s First Nations jersey and assisted Queensland Cricket in developing the organisation’s Reconciliation Action Plan. Outside of cricket, Mikayla loves all things property & is often spotted sipping coffee at Home Café in Ashgrove.

The centre circle represents the Gabba, alongside other water holes which used to be near the ground. 87 black strokes on red earth represent the wickets taken by Aboriginal great, Eddie Gilbert who played 23 games for Queensland.
