Amelia “Melie” Kerr is BACK in teal after being selected as the Heat’s platinum pick in the inaugural WBBL International Draft. Hailing from across the ditch in Wellington, New Zealand, the all-rounder is known for her leg-spin mastery and powerful right-handed batting. In her 46 WBBL matches to date for Brisbane, she has scored 499 runs and taken 52 wickets at an outstanding economy rate of 6.19.
Melie's career began at a young age, making her New Zealand debut at just 16 years old. Since then, she has been a stalwart for the New Zealand White Ferns, consistently impressing on the international stage.
Having previously graced the Brisbane Heat roster in WBBL|05, WBBL|06, and WBBL|08, Melie's return is eagerly anticipated by Heat fans. Her exceptional performance last season earned her a coveted spot in the Team of the Tournament.
