HEAT REGROUP FOR SIXERS Squad Set For Coffs Harbour

The Brisbane Heat have named a 13-man squad for their clash with the Sydney Sixers in Coffs Harbour.

The Brisbane Heat have included Michael Neser, Jack Wood and English draft choice Tom Alsop for tomorrow’s important KFC Big Bash League clash with the Sydney Sixers in Coffs Harbour.

Alsop, who was injured on the eve of the Heat’s opening game, comes back into the Brisbane squad in place of fellow Englishman Tom Banton who replaced him while he recovered from a quad strain.

Alsop, 28, is a former England U-19 and England Lions representative who has played 100 first class matches and 72 List A matches, as well as 77 T20 matches where he has a career strike-rate of 130.

A wicket-keeper and left-handed batter, Alsop will be joined in the Heat’s 13-man squad by Neser, who is aiming to play his first game of the competition, and allrounder Wood.

Neser has completed his rehabilitation from a hamstring tendon injury suffered playing for Australia ‘A’, while Wood is seeking to play his second game of the season after hitting 27 in the opening match.

The Heat will wear their Indigenous playing strip for the first time this season, with Coffs Harbour hosting the Sixers’ First Nations Round game.

The match will be broadcast on Channel 7 and Foxtel and streamed on 7Plus and Kayo Sports as well as covered by ABC Radio and SEN.
