The Brisbane Heat has qualified for the KFC Big Bash League Final for the second season in a row, with a 54-run win over the Adelaide Strikers on the Gold Coast tonight in the Challenger.
Heat Into Final
On a record-breaking night, Josh Brown scored the equal second-fast BBL century of all time, hitting 102 from 41 balls on the way to the highest score by a Heat batter, passing the 112 scored by Luke Pomersbach in BBL|02.
Brown, in his second season with the club, hit 12 sixes in his innings of 140 from 57 balls, the most in a BBL innings. It was also the highest individual score in a BBL Final.
Brown hit 22 of the 28 boundaries hit by the team against the Strikers, wth Brisbane scoring 7-214. He did not take the field in the Strikers innings due to a hip complaint that will be monitored further tomorrow.
Wednesday's Final against the Sixers will be held at the SCG.
The Heat bounced back tonight after suffering defeat at the hands of the Sixers in The Qualifier on Friday at the Gold Coast, a result that earned Sydney hosting rights to The Final.
This will be the third time the SCG has hosted The Final, with the Sixers looking to claim a fourth BBL title in front of their home fans while victory would hand the Heat a second championship.
The Heat qualified for last season's Final as well, losing in a thriller to the Perth Scorchers at Optus Stadium.
