The Brisbane Heat has thanked Mitchell Swepson for his 10-season commitment to the Brisbane Heat after the leg-spinner signed a new deal with the Melbourne Stars today.

Swepson signed a three-year contract with the Stars on the final day of the BBL’s Player Movement Window.
Swepson sits second on the Heat’s wicket-takers list with 72 and was part of the club’s triumphant BBL|13 winning team.
He captained the team this summer while regular skipper Colin Munro was injured.
Heat and Queensland Cricket General Manager of Elite Cricket Joe Dawes thanked Swepson for his service to the club.
“Mitch has been a terrific player and leader for the Brisbane Heat over the past decade,'' he said.
"He has played a big role in helping the club achieve success and was instrumental in our BBL|13 win.
“Mitch was open and honest in our conversations today. He was very much in our retention plans, but we understand his decision is based on looking after his family long-term, which we respect. He will always be welcome at the Heat.”
The BBL will now enter a signing embargo window that is likely to open in March.
Clubs could have a maximum of ten players contracted at the close of the BBL season, with an additional two signings from other clubs available to be made during the Player Movement Window that closes today.
