JUNIOR CRICKET CLUB: Cleveland Thornlands Cricket Club
Star Australian batsman Marnus Labuschagne has committed to the Brisbane Heat for yet another season! Wearing teal since BBL|06, Marnus is known as the team larrikin, but will swiftly turn up the temperature when the stakes are high.
Husband to Rebekah and Dad to his little girl Hallie, this Brissie Bayside local is often spotted strolling along the Raby Bay Foreshore, or packing the Landcruiser to spend a few days on Stradbroke Island with the family and their chocolate Labrador Milo.
In between training at the National Cricket Centre in Albion, Marnus will head down to Neighbourhood Coffee Roasters, which according to Marnus, is “hands down the best coffee shop in Brisbane”. Marnus loves coffee so much that he decided to launch his own coffee bean business, The Run Club Coffee Co, in collaboration with Neighbourhood. It just makes sense for the ‘full of beans’ character that is Marnus! Become a Heat member this season for your chance to meet Marnus and grab his autograph at member-exclusive events.

We acknowledge and pay respect to our First Nations people and Traditional Custodians of the land and waters where we are privileged to live, work and play. We recognise and celebrate their spiritual and ongoing connection to culture and country. We respectfully acknowledge all elders past, present and emerging as we continue to cherish shared wisdom and grow with their guidance as we walk together toward a connected country.
Brisbane Heat’s indigenous artwork was collaboratively designed by WBBL player and proud Kunja woman Mikayla Hinkley and Brisbane Indigenous artist, Delores McDonald (“Aunty Delly”).
The centre circle represents the Gabba, alongside other water holes which used to be near the ground. 87 black strokes on red earth represent the wickets taken by Aboriginal great, Eddie Gilbert who played 23 games for Queensland.
