The Brisbane Heat have made one change to their squad to prepare for tomorrow night’s KFC Big Bash League clash with the Sydney Thunder at the Gabba.
Heat Name Squad
Gold Coast allrounder Hugo Burdon will re-join the squad as a Local Replacement Player.
Burdon was originally named as a Local Replacement Player at the start of the tournament and comes back into the squad as a replacement for injured pace bower Will Prestwidge (side).
Following his approval by the BBL Technical Committee, he must be named in the twelve for tomorrow’s night game against the Thunder.
Burdon, a Queensland Bulls contracted player, has previously been tied to the Heat as a replacement player without playing a match.
The 22-year-old allrounder was the equal leading runs-scorer with 379 runs in the KFC T20 Max earlier this season.
Brisbane will take on a resurgent Sydney Thunder, which is coming off a win over the Melbourne Stars in Albury, with the two clubs also contesting the Road Safety Cup.
Respective captains Colin Munro (Heat) and Chris Green (Thunder) will both wear ‘0’ on their playing shirts tomorrow, supporting the goal to drive the road toll Towards Zero by 2050.
Heat spinner Mitch Swepson and Sydney Thunder pace bowler Nathan McAndrew spoke with media today, along with Queensland Police Service Assistant Commisioner Chris Streams and Joanna Robinson, General Manager (Land Transport Safety and Regulation) with TMR.
